Pelješac

Pelješac is after the Istria Island, the biggest peninsula in Croatian Adriatic See, covering the area of 348km2. Pelješac is located in southern Dalmatia, between the Neretlvjanski channel on the north, and Mljetski channel on the south, splitting the peninsula from the mainland. The highest peak of the peninsula is Sveti Llija, 961 meters high. The waters by the village Viganj are known for the best area for surfing. You can find here nice beaches and quiet environment, more than at the main coast. The town of Dinga? and Potomje are well known for wine in a great quality. Pelješac has at the town of Orebi? starting point for Kor?ula Island. Village called Trstenisk is a starting point for Mljet Island. At the beginning of the peninsula, at the village Ston, are hatcheries for mussels breeding. You can buy here fresh mussels.
