The summer resort Podgora is located in the southern part of central Dalmatia. Podgora consists of two parts – the old part is located on a mountainside and was heavily damaged in 1962 by an earthquake. The inhabitants mostly left this area and continued building of new houses on shore towards the Adriatical arterial road. Northern above the township lays the mountain mass of Biokovo.
South-easterly, the Pelješac peninsula and Korčula and Hvar islands can be seen one by one. Horizon in the west is being closed by Brač island. The township has approximately 1800 residents. A small village Čaklje also belongs to Podgora. The summer resort Podgora has beautiful palm promenade and a lot of lawn and planting.
